Welcome to a diverse community of artists who live and work in a renovated warehouse in Lowertown Saint Paul
What makes Lowertown Lofts Artist Cooperative unique? We are an artist-owned and artist-managed cooperative. As such, we’ve been providing affordable live/work studios specifically for artists for over 40 years.

welcome to a vibrant community of creators
With our main entrance from a humble alleyway, you might assume Lowertown Lofts Artist Cooperative has a low profile in the greater community. Not true!
Members of our cooperative have created public art throughout the Twin Cities, in the form of murals, sculptures, gatherings – even an entire park.
Our work is collected internationally by institutions such as the Walker Art Center and National Museum of Women in the Arts.
We have performed on stages of all sizes, all around the world.
And we have received a wide assortment of awards, including Bush, McKnight, Jerome and Guggenheim fellowships.
We teach. We exhibit. We perform. We publish. In other words, art is our world. It’s what we do. And we love doing it here at Lowertown Lofts Artist Cooperative.

We paint. Draw. Print. Photograph. Create digital art. Sing. Play guitar and piano. Throw pots. Make books. Create jewelry. Direct music theater. Do lighting for performances. Weave. Compose. Conduct musical performances. Assemble sculptures. Dance. Write. Cook. And dream of doing more.
